An interesting part of the game's history is that it was nearly cancelled. It was originally titled Mini Golf Maniacs and developed by Dynamix in 2000. When parent company Sierra Online shut down Dynamix in 2001, the game was but sat unreleased for five years until Wanako Studios finished it in 2006.
