The episode begins with a brief recap of Season 1 events, narrated by a stone lamp yokai. It re-establishes Kotoko Iwanaga as the "Goddess of Wisdom," the mediator between the human and supernatural worlds, and her immortal boyfriend Kuro Sakuragawa .
