The song from the film 1921 (2018), performed by Arijit Singh and Akanksha Sharma , is a haunting exploration of emotional isolation and the psychological "fog" created by the absence of a loved one. Composed by Asad Khan with lyrics by Raqueeb Alam, the track moves beyond a typical romantic ballad to depict love as a condition of both survival and potential destruction. The production uses a "slow-burn" arrangement that mirrors the lyrics' sense of longing. Arijit Singh’s vocals are characterized by a raw, breathy delivery that emphasizes the vulnerability of the narrator, while Akanksha Sharma’s sections provide a ghostly, ethereal contrast that represents the distant or "unreachable" nature of the beloved.
