The story centers on Howard Gordon (Marlon Wayans), a science teacher and Halloween skeptic, who moves his family from Brooklyn to the fictional, Halloween-obsessed town of Bridge Hollow . His teenage daughter, Sydney (Priah Ferguson), accidentally releases the mischievous spirit of "Stingy Jack" while exploring their new home, which was once owned by a local legend.
